Except for the fact that Im home with Tonsillitis. Thats right, I had to ditch my campers for pretty much the whole week because I have tonsillitis. Im not very happy, haha. But I guess...when you spend almost 36 hours in bed with just 2 freezies and a few crackers to eat...its time to go to the doctor and find out whats wrong, haha.
Other than being sick, camp has been really good. My campers last week were really good, I didnt really have to disapline at all. All the staff is doing a really good job, and almost everyone is tight. The kitchen girls have their little click that only 2 or 3 boys are allowed to enter, but when you get them apart, like in small group devotions, their really good. All the Female counsellors have really bonded. Which is really good. So many stories, but they're all so hard to explain.
Some examples...
Some people might know the song "milkshake" - "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and there like, its better than yours **** right its better than yours" Yeah...we all had that song stuck in our head the first day campers came, so we had to quickly get it out, or change the words...so we couldnt get it out of our heads so we came up with "My jesus Brings all the kids to the camp and there like, its better than yours gosh darn right its better than yours we'll tell you about our lord" Haha. What can I say, its corney, but it works. And a few of us have fallen in love with the song "Rehab" but "Amy Winehouse" but we cant listen to it around the kids because its about refusing to get help when you need it, haha...so we always have it stuck in our head, but when we do hear it, it gives us hope...kind of. Haha...like yesterday on our way back from the doctors we were all almost in tears cause we didnt want to be sick and it came on the radio and we all started laughing and yeah.
One of the girls Im living with was coming off her ladder on friday morning, and she slipped on something and fell flat on her face. Funniest wipe out yet! Except for the "Castguard" incident. For those of you who dont know about castguard (probably almost everyone), Castguard (Casty, as we've named it) is a big rubber yellow thing, looks kinda like a boot, but its thin. Its so if you have a cast or a bandage that you cant get wet, you can wear it and it keeps it safe. So one of our counsellors cut part of her toe off on our adventure walk, haha...so she had a bandage (the toes almost healed now) and so she needed to shower and she didnt know how, so we went to talk to Opty (the program director) and he's like "well I found these things a while ago, there from the 70's, you can try one" so she uses it, we're all dying laughing. I took a picture of her wearing it but she's in a towel, so probably not the most appropriate, haha. Anyways, we get out of the shower and she's just finishing, she tells us to go get some stuff we needed, so we walk out of the wash cars and we heard this big thud, and we run back in and she's sitting on the floor with nothing but castguard and a towel on, she had stepped out of the shower and slipped because "Casty" was waaaay to slippery. she ended up slipping down of the almost 12 inch drop between the shower and the ground, her other foot flew up and hit the sinks, and was bruised, and she bruised her hands and...other places. So funny. It'll go down in history, it truly will.
Anyways...this post has been way to long
